Your Interview at The National School of Aesthetics: Showing You Around, Talking about What’s Expected of You and Discussing Your Application
Your interview is the second step in the enrolment procedure. In your interview, we discuss your goals and aspirations about the beauty programme or the nail technology programme and the beauty industry. This meeting helps ensure you understand what’s required of you. A successful interview may lead to an offer of enrolment.
Before Your Interview
Before your interview, you will need to:
- Familiarise yourself with the policies, procedures and requirements in our Student Handbook and
- Watch the Interview Presentation
Student Handbook
You will need to familiarise yourself with our policies and procedures, including the Student Handbook.
We may ask you questions about subjects covered in the Student Handbook at your interview, and we will expect you to have a good knowledge of what is covered in the Handbook.
The Interview Presentation
You will need to watch the Interview Presentation.
We may also ask you questions about what is covered in the Interview Presentation at your interview, and we will expect you to have a good knowledge of what is covered in the Interview Presentation.
If You Fail to Prepare for the Interview
We may terminate and reschedule your appointment if you have not reviewed the handbook and / or watched the presentation.
We need you to be familiar with our policies, procedures, and requirements so we can discuss your application more in-depth.
Your Interview
During your interview, we will:
- Take you for a tour of the school if our premises are free to do so and
- Conduct your individual interview
The School Tour
One of our friendly team members will take you on a tour around our school. Access to some rooms may be limited if current ākonga / students are undertaking classes.
Your Individual Interview
At the approximate time listed in your letter, we will have an individual interview. We will ask you several questions and discuss your application and goals with you. This should take between 30 minutes and 1 hour.
Applicants who appear to have weak English skills may be given a comprehension test.
You have the right to bring someone along to all sections; however, please contact us prior to the meeting to let us know that person is coming along, so we can adjust the space accordingly.
Please bring any originals with you of the information you have submitted along with you. We will review it. Also bring any questions you may have.
Also ensure your appearance (clothes, etc.) is appropriate for an interview situation. We do take appearance into consideration for applicants.
No-Shows for Interviews
If you are booked in for an interview and you do not show up, and you do not contact us with regards to why you did not show up (within a reasonable amount of time), we reserve the right to disqualify you from any further applications with us indefinitely.
We also reserve the right to charge you a fee if you do not show up, if you don’t follow instructions, and / or if you submit information and do not respond to our attempt at contacting you. See Fees and Charges for further information on what to expect for withdrawal or no-show fees.
